There comes a moment when the truth lands.

Not in your mind.

In your body.

For me, once I began remembering, I couldn’t go back to the life I had built around not knowing.

I couldn’t keep abandoning myself to make other people comfortable.

I couldn’t pretend I was fine when I wasn’t.

Truth changes you.

It asks something of you.

Not because it’s easy.

Because once you’ve seen it, living against it becomes far more painful than living with it.

That has been my path.

And maybe it’s yours too?

What no one tells you about childhood trauma is that it doesn’t always show up looking like trauma.

Sometimes it shows up looking like your greatest strengths.

For years I thought my drive, my independence, my ability to handle everything on my own, was just who I was.

And after being bullied at school, achieving things felt like it gave me value. Importance. A reason to take up space.

So I kept going. More success. More recognition. Fifteen flights a month as a motivational speaker and every single one felt like proof that I was worth something.

What I did not see was that underneath all of it, a little girl had learned something very early.

That she could not rely on anyone. That needing people was not safe. That she had better figure it out herself.

That belief did not stay in childhood.

It followed me into every relationship, every achievement, every moment someone tried to love me and I did not know how to let them in.

The hardest part is that it does not feel like a wound from the inside.

It feels like your personality.

It feels like strength.

And that is exactly why it took me so long to go back and look at where it actually came from.

Can I ask you something.

When the old feelings come back, and they do come back for all of us, what do you do with them?

Because what we do with them now is everything.

I would love to hear your experiences.

For me the hardest part is not the spiral.

It is the moment you catch yourself in it and have to choose what you do next.

That choice used to not exist for me.

Now it does.

That is the work.

What do you do when anxiety flairs up?
The tape starts running...
Maybe you cant sleep...

I notice.
I press pause.
I come home to my center.

I might set an alter that week.
Go into meditation or prayer.
Connect to my higher self, my heart.

I notice the feelings...
Usually triggered by uncertainty.
I remind myself feelings aren´t facts.
It´s not always real, it can be old feelings being activated.

When we are moving forwards, being tested, quantum timeline jumping.
It can be unsettling as f#*k!
Anything new to the ego is scary.
The ego will try to drag you back, under... to doubt yourself.
Back to the past.

So I have a conversation with that part of myself.
I negotiate and debate.
I pull my thoughts to a healthier, loving place.

I notice the thoughts.
I notice they are usually fear based.
I notice my nervous system.
I ask what am I feeling...and where do I feel it in my body?
Maybe I feel unsafe?
Uncertainty, the unknown, does that.

I tell the little parts of me, we have been here before.
We have proof, evidence. Everything will be ok.
New can be fun. Exciting even.
Different can be safe.

I slowly move out of anxiety or fear and towards TRUST.

This doesn´t happen by itself though.

It takes discipline, practice, process, willingness.

Reminding myself, you have been here before.

You´ll be here again...and faster each time I return to my center.

My truth...my trust.

The universe never ceases to surprise and amaze me

The universe never ceases to surprise and amaze me with all of its serendipity and synchronicity. One weekend I had prepared to do some art to work with a part of myself that I had seen in my own process, she had appeared to me walking out of a basement, covered in blackness.

So I had gone to the print shop to print out a photo of a basement that I could use to make some art. I didn’t quite like the lighting and I asked them to print a second copy. The weekend got away from me and I never had a chance to do that piece of art I had planned.

The next day i had an in person somatic session and during the regression my client connected with parts of herself and memories of a basement.

After the sessions I often get clients to do some artwork to help them process what they might’ve seen that they don’t necessarily always have words for.

Well it was then that I understood why I had printed out that second image of the basement. It was for her.

We sat with our younger parts and created our art together. Mines still in progress I’ll continue it later today.

People often ask me if I feel heavy post sessions and clients. But what I’ve seen is when we have to visit heavy places in the sessions, we also have closure and cathartis. A release and we both feel lighter.

After having released a lot of what she held in her nervous system and her body from those experiences she was able to sprinkle some gold glitter over the steps to the basement representing sparkle that she can now find as she steps into her future out of the darkness. Away from the past. With strength and courage.

Yes. It takes a lot of courage to go back sometimes into these moments but what I witness again and again is it leaves my clients with a newfound sense of strength.

We go in together and we go out together.

Rescuing our younger parts who may still be stuck in literal or metaphorical basements. In their minds, nervous systems or fear.

We open the door, walk them up those steps and sometimes light a match to burn that f*#ing basement to the ground.

We walk out of the flames up into our freedom.

3 calls these past few days with women 50 to 60 wh

3 calls these past few days with women 50 to 60 who have followed and known me for 15 to 20 years!

Australian, European, Canadian...all with something in common.

All high functioning.

All with a history of trauma.

All only recently realized.

All did what they have always done...

Studied everything they could!! ;) Read every book on trauma. Listened to all the podcasts.

Intellectualized understanding themselves better than anyone could.

And “intellectualizing is a psychological defense mechanism where the mind uses logic, reasoning, and abstract concepts to avoid experiencing uncomfortable or distressing emotions. Instead of feeling raw emotions like fear, sadness, or anger, you shift into “understanding” mode, analyzing the why rather than accepting the what.”

Here´s the thing, trauma lives in the body.

On some level they know this... as they are ready to go a level deeper. It´s time to embody and integrate. To feel whats there, whats alive for them. Where their past is still living in the present. And to finally let it all go.

Somatic work. Parts work. Core wound work. Regression work. Does that.

Anyone who´s been to hell and back knows what I am talking about. REAL mental anguish.

That place is not just dark though, it´s a portal. Mine took me on a magic carpet ride I never asked for. A spiritual awakening...an initiation...I met angels and guides, I started to feel energy in a way I didn’t have words for yet, and slowly I learned how to use it all to heal. To come home to myself.

I am not telling you this to make it sound pretty becasue it was brutal. But so much magic came through it too, and I would not trade what I found down there for the version of me who never went looking.

It is what made me the demon slaying warrior I am now. A medicine woman, a truth teller, a light worker, a powerhouse. I am reclaiming parts of myself I had lost or forgotten. I am remembering the truth of who I am and have always been.

And that is the most magical thing on earth.

Because if the next 9 years are anything like the last, I am in!!

And that seems like a crazy thing to say considering how brutal it has been.

But so much magic came through it all too.

I am not the old me. I am not the new me. I am becoming...

I am a medicine woman, a demon slayer, a truth teller, a light worker, a powerhouse. I am reclaiming parts I had lost or forgotten, I am remember the truth of who I am and have always been.
