Our bodies…hold so much of our trauma. So many stories that are not ours, things we took on from family, culture, society…

Our bodies protect us in ways that may not always be the best for us in the long term. This week on our Wednesday night sister circle call, (yes tonight) we will be delving into our relationship with our body as a part & “how the body keeps the score”.

A term made famous by a leading trauma expert Bessel Van Der Kolk…The book explains how traumatic stress impacts memory, emotions, and physical health, leading to conditions like chronic stress and pain And the brain and body connection: It details how trauma literally reshapes the brain and body, affecting a person’s capacity for trust, pleasure, and self-control.

Typically when I look at photos I go straight to critic, the love handles, back fat, cellulite or wrinkles… how old I am getting. How I am no longer as young or beautiful or slim as I once was.
I have been working very consciously to try to meet myself where I am at. I am 50 next month and this body has held me through so much. I am only just now really getting to know her and stay in her rather than leave and dissociate.

Now, I try really hard to stop that critic in seconds and switch to seeing myself through more loving eyes, just as I would of a friend or lover. To see her laugh lines, her jiggly bits & in perfection as beauty & wisdom.

As a child I was so skinny. I was called anorexic, surf board, ironing board, spaghetti legs…I didn’t develop breasts till 22, yes a late bloomer.… continue part two in the comments below…

LOVE just arrived… this weekend we celebrated 1 year of living together. I will post a video soon as I have SO much to share about the learnings and growth. But for now here is a post I shared from loves arrival. I hope this inspires anyone looking to manifest a safe love. This photo is taken after a yoga practice in our living room. My fave part of the class is cuddles after. kx

LOVE just arrived...

I know I said there wouldn’t be a knight in shining armor at the end of this book but you know what. I did it! I created him. I manifested him. I called for him. ME…

I put all the ingredients of the love I needed, the love I wanted, the love I deserved into the vortex and I manifested him. I called for him.

I called for him as I healed.

I called for him as I returned home to myself.

I called him sometimes without even knowing.

His everything I had been putting on my ingredient list.

His everything I began to believe existed as I started to be able to see red flags and not run towards them.

His everything I was able to allow in and receive because I had allowed myself to learn what a green flag felt like.

His here because of the work I did.

His not here to rescue me, his here because I rescued myself.

I was the knight in shining armor, slaying demons and protecting myself, ALL my parts.

A beautiful sister Fiona Mahony who lived in Tulum with me sent me this photo that popped up in her memories. She made this fabulous hat. She’s so creative. And we were playing on the beach, capturing photos for her.

When I look at this photo, I feel so many things. I feel the joy that I always feel when I’m at the ocean. I see a playfulness in myself that the ocean brings out in me. A calm.
What takes you into a memory portal?

I think back on all the beautiful moments I had while living in Tulum and the beautiful friendships I made. So many wonderful moments and I also see a sassyness in this photo.

I took a trip down memory lane today. I was preparing for a call on shame. If your interested in joining DM me or drop a heart emoji.

Well watching these videos from over 10 years ago. I have so much to share...I am still processing. What stands out to me is HOW much of a grip #shame had on me. How looking back from 15-about 30 it had a real strangle hold on me.

I watch her now and feel like i am looking at a past life. Its hard to remember being her, how everyday life was so painful. How she talked to herself, saw herself, felt about herself and how that impacted what she believed she was worthy of, and deeply impacted her relationships and dating life. Staying single for decades.
