I used to think looking back meant staying stuck there.

Then I understood the difference. Dwelling keeps you in the story. Looking back to see the pattern is what actually lets you put it down.

I spent years reacting to things that had nothing to do with the moment I was in. A tone of voice. A silence at the dinner table. My body was still bracing for something that happened decades ago.

The past isn’t the enemy. Not looking at it clearly is.

Its a beautiful evolution of the work we do. Here is what one client shared... after working together on zoom and then in Mexico in person.

Life is always changing, I get that, but this experience, the multitude of ‘ah-ha’ and ‘oh fuck’ and ‘what the fuck’ moments just continued throughout the week, and to be honest, they are still coming (not to the same intensity but they keep rolling in).

My life is on a new path, the shifts and changes within me are showing up all around me. The challenges that I used to feel stuck on, seem to be moving aside without much resistance, and I feel like I am moving through my days with more ease. The number of times I pushed through my fear in that week, are a constant reminder to me to continue to connect with my inner warrior 😊. I can do this, be this, create this, have all of this….joy, joy and more joy 😊

You made the retreat so personalised for me, and for my relationship, it was just the greatest gift I’ve given myself and my marriage….and it was your gifts, your commitment to your amazing talents that allowed this to be gifted to me…thankyou, thankyou, thankyou 😊

Thank you, Gloria. For all you did and taught us, this famous quote was the working title for my next book for a time...

There comes a point where the truth becomes impossible to unsee.

The truth about what happened.
The truth about what you’ve tolerated.
The truth about where you’ve betrayed yourself to be loved, accepted, safe, or understood.

And honestly?

It can piss you off.

Because awakening isn’t always peaceful.

Sometimes it’s rage.
Sometimes it’s grief.
Sometimes it’s looking at your life and realizing just how much of yourself you learned to silence.

Because healing can be about coming home to the parts of you that had to disappear in order for you to survive.

And freedom isn’t always some huge, dramatic breakthrough.

Sometimes it’s simply saying no.

Leaving.

Speaking the truth.

Trusting your body.

Letting someone misunderstand you.

Choosing yourself without needing everyone else to agree.

The truth might piss you off.

But if you’re willing to stay with it, it can also lead you all the way back to yourself.

And that, to me, is where the real freedom begins.

EXCRUTIATING GRACE...I went to a writers group yes

EXCRUTIATING GRACE...I went to a writers group yesterday with a beautiful group of women sharing vulnerable stories, and the idea was that you were given a prompt. Our prompt was Excruciating Grace. And for ten minutes, we were to write in free flow. on this topic.

This is what I wrote on excruciating grace.

The first thing I think of is the excruciating trauma of being cracked open. Your psyche and everything you knew to be true, shape shifting. Your world turning to rubble, and on one hand, through the rear vision mirror some ten years later, one part would say ALL of it was beyond excrutiating.

Yet another part of me, the one who sits here today, the one writing, she would say it was ALL grace. The new me, who I found under the rubble. The one who climbed her way out, the one who lived through an initiation, and ego death, whose identity collapsed over and over and over again. The one who was in an apprenticeship. The one who came home to herself. Who discovered a power and truth in her, loves her life today. She gets to know grace because of the journey she went on. A journey deep within a place most people fear. A place many are too terrified to ever face. And for that, I’m grateful!

Are there days that I don’t feel that way... Yes. Days I’m triggered into the past? Days it feels fresh. Days I feel the excruciating trauma and terror and fears coming back to visit, as if they never left... so close, I feel them breathing on the back of my neck. Yes. But I don’t fear them swallowing me whole like I used to…

I’m in Mexico City today doing in person private Healing sessions and I have to tell you as much as I love Zoom sessions with clients. There is something about hands-on healing that is so different and being able to be in person with a client being able to help their body release automatically. Really excited for today and it brings me so much joy to connect with a client in this way.

After Mexico City I had to San Miguel and then Baja California so I’m looking forward to a lot more in person sessions and possibly a hotel residency while I’m there which is always one of my favorite things to do and interact with guests.

Would you love to experience an in person session with me? Hopefully one day you can come to a Retreat.

I feel personally exposed by how accurate this is.

Just so you know, she looks very calm and approachable, but this is a trap.She will ask you one innocent question and somehow, 45 minutes later, you’ll be discussing childhood trauma, nervous-system regulation...

She has the rare ability to turn a casual coffee into a spiritual awakening.

She’ll have asked you a question so unexpectedly profound that you’ll suddenly be reconsidering your entire life.

She’ll tell you she’s ‘just curious’ and then conduct a forensic investigation into whatever you happened to mention.

She believes in following the signs, trusting the universe and listening to your body — while simultaneously Googling, cross-referencing and creating a 14-point decision matrix.

She can spot bullshit from approximately 400 metres away.

For a long time I couldn’t get still. It felt like punishment having to be quiet. And busyness was one of my major ways to stay numb to be disconnected from myself and my body and life really I used busyness as a badge, honor.
